I think Susan Mallery started my fixation on Sheikh's, a long, long, time ago. Although I've read most of her Sheikh series, I did it quite a while ago and didn't write reviews but here are some. Please don't be put off by the covers. I loved these books :) Jodie xoxo

The Sheik and the Runaway Princess
(Desert Rogues #4) 

 Ok, I will say it again. I LOVE SHEIK’S. God damn I wish I knew why they appeal to me so much, but they just do. The desert locations, dominant, passionate and aggressive men are all so completely different from my sad little life in Wagga Wagga.

I think there must be some romantic, time warp thingy that I fall into whenever I start a Sheik book – because realistically most of the stories are about arrogant, head strong men that think love is something a woman feels to pass the time and all they want to do is dominate them into every form of submission.

But funnily enough I see their dominance as pulse racing protectiveness and think their lack of wanting love is just a hurdle easily manoeuvred by seduction.

I had a smile on my face throughout this whole book. Kardal was a cheeky, smart ass and I loved the way he reluctantly fell in love with Princess Sabra. Sabrina showed a lot of backbone but the relationship she has with her father was truly upsetting. He deserved a good kick up the butt.

I also felt that the romantic story of Kardal’s mother Cala was an added bonus.

The Sheik and the Virgin Princess
(Desert Rogues #5)

I really enjoyed The Sheik and the Virgin Princess it was another Harlequin book that was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish.

Zara was the type of Princess I would like to be. Instead of knowing she was born as a Princess she was thrust into the title at the age of 28. She hadn’t grown up knowing her father was a King and hadn’t enjoyed the wealth and benefits of the royal position, so she wasn’t like the typical snobby, spoilt, rich brats that royalty are often referred to. Her life hadn’t been easy, which had shaped her into a great heroine – one with independence and an understanding of who she was as a person.

Rafe – was the sexy bodyguard that we all fantasise about, all things yummy, thrown together with determination, confidence and also a sweet side. I loved their slow seduction and laughed out loud at the first sex scene. As the title states – Zara is a virgin and I don’t mean the type that has gone past all 3 bases and just has to get to the home plate – HELL NO – Zara was completely virginal, to the point that it was humorous.

After finishing this book I now want to go back and read the book before it (yes, I did read them out of order and I definitely need to find Cleo’s book!
