REVIEW: I Only Have Eyes For You by Bella Andre

4 HEARTS

From Goodreads

Get ready for another Sullivan to fall in love in Bella Andre's bestselling contemporary romance series!

Sophie Sullivan, a librarian in San Francisco, was five years old when she fell head over heels in love with Jake McCann. Twenty years later, she's convinced the notorious bad boy still sees her as the "nice" Sullivan twin. That is, when he bothers to look at her at all. But when they both get caught up in the magic of the first Sullivan wedding, she knows it's long past time to do whatever it takes to make him see her for who she truly is...the woman who will love him forever.

Jake has always been a magnet for women, especially since his Irish pubs made him extremely wealthy. But the only woman he really wants is the one he can never have. Not only is Sophie his best friend's off-limits younger sister...he can't risk letting her get close enough to discover his deeply hidden secret.

Only, when Sophie appears on his doorstep as Jake's every fantasy come to life-smart, beautiful, and shockingly sexy-he doesn't have a prayer of taking his eyes, or his hands, off her. And he can't stop craving more of her sweet smiles and sinful kisses. Because even though Jake knows loving Sophie isn't the right thing to do...how can he possibly resist?

I'm going to steal Jake. I'm going to kidnap him and chain him up in my closet where I can do dirty dirty things to him. Not only that, but I'm going to be his princess and we're going to have beautiful babies together. And…

Erm… Yeah.

Once again I am dumbfounded by the abilities of Mrs. Andre. Once again she took a kind of topic that I find to be a huge no-no in novels, and I do mean HUGE no-no, and turn into an amazing and beautiful story that I was addicted to. Not only that, but I fell head over heels for both Jake and Sophie. After everything, I am so incredibly happy with how this story turned out.

Since book 1, I found myself rather put off by the twins, Sophie and Lori. I'm not sure why, but with their little tidbits throughout the series, I could never really get behind them. But I dove headfirst into this book because I've learned to trust that the author knows best at times. In the beginning, I still don't like Sophie. I thought she was coming off as too desperate, too whiny, just overall completely blah. Then everything went to hell in a handbasket fast and I found that the woman she was forced developed into was one I like so much more. It was almost like suddenly the cloud her head had been stuck in all this time had listed and the real Sophie came out. She was strong. She was determined. She was independent. But most of all, she understood her own heart. I felt like I was discovering who she was just as Jake was. All this time I saw her in one way, and then suddenly she was a completely different person, but not at the same time. She truly was a beauty to behold.

Of course Jake, being the stud muffin that he is, was phenomenal. Once again from book 1, we see Jake as having looked at Sophie which she was the sister to him. That, my dear ladies, is not the case. When Sophie finally succeed in breaking down his walls at her brother's wedding, she opens the floodgate of things we never thought we'd see from Jake. From the scorching hot passion and bad, to the sweet dates and things he says, even to the angry blasts from his past, Jake is nothing but downright swoon worthy male magnificence. My heart broke, fixed itself, and broke all over again for him. He had the biggest heart and the deepest feelings for Sophie, but didn't know the first thing about how to show them to her. He kept making mistakes, kept pulling away, kept trying to figure out what he was doing so he could keep her. Despite how broken he fell from his past, the love he had for her put him back together in a way that was so incredibly beautiful that I think even I fell for him.

Damn you, Bella Andre! *shakes fist adoringly*

And seriously, if the sex had been any hotter, I think my Kindle would have had a serious meltdown. The only word I can use to describe the passion between them is intense. There was nothing less than that between them. Every look, every touch, every freaking kiss was enough to set the building on fire. There was so much emotion between them, so much long held onto love, that when they finally came together, it was explosive. I don't think I've ever read a novel in which I felt the connection so deeply that it affected me.

Freaking phenomenal.
