REVIEW: Heels Up by Emily Sinclare

Heels Up
by Emily Sinclare

4 HEARTS

Sparks fly when legendary actor Bradley Moore stumbles into witty, romantically minded flight attendant Betty Hammond while boarding a flight. Neither expects the immediate, incendiary attraction that flares between them, nor can they resist indulging in some intimate contact while in the air.

But once back on solid ground, reality comes calling. Betty is a flight attendant, Brad is a major movie star. Despite the challenges, Brad finds himself drawn to Betty’s wicked wit, her unflagging humor, and the fact that she’s completely unaffected by his celebrity status. Betty can’t resist Brad’s down-to-earth side. And even long after their midair encounter, they find themselves unable to deny an intense mutual passion that reaches beyond the boundaries drawn by Hollywood’s rules.

As their relationship strengthens, Brad and Betty wonder if their mutual feelings are enough to beat the odds and keep them together—or if they’ll ultimately get burned under the glare of Hollywood’s spotlight.

Every once in a while you just need that feel good kind of book to lift your spirits and Heels Up is just that book. This flirty, sexy, humorous story of Betty and Brad was just what the doctor ordered for a dreary winter afternoon!

When mega movie star Bradley Moore literally runs into Betty Hammond on a flight to New York the attraction is instantaneous. This charming flight attendant peaks Brad's interest like no other with her witty sense of humor, her seeming innocence and the fact that she has absolutely no idea who he is and isn't that refreshing as all get out. And let us not forget how desirable she is as well.

A true bookworm at heart Betty doesn't watch TV or movies so when the legendary movie star backs her into the galley with her own cart while boarding a flight she isn't overwhelmed with his mega watt stardom. What does overwhelm her is the heated feeling she gets when they accidentally touch or when he looks at her with those blue eyes of his. But what would a movie star like him want with a plain Jane like her? And when she turns him down for a date she finds herself locked in the plane's lavatory with him until she says yes.

But when Brad and Betty take a leap of faith and try to delve into some kind of dating normalcy the unexpected happens. Each are involved in accidents that push their private relationship into the public spotlight forcing them to deal with the media frenzy that ensues leaving them to wonder if their new found happiness can survive.

What I love about Brad is that despite his star power he is just a normal guy wanting to live a normal life. And what Brad loves the most about Betty is the fact that he can be himself around her, do normal things. That is all he has ever wanted but the fact that he comes from a long line of Hollywood movie star legends it always has been out of his reach, until Betty.

What I love most about Betty is that even though she is unsure of herself at times she is willing to put herself out there for Brad and blossom along with their relationship. She is down to earth and honest and isn't one of those women that cowered in the corner. She knows who she is and isn't afraid to stand up for herself and for her relationship with Brad even if the reporters or public don't like it.

I have to say that this book certainly peaked my interest when I saw it. I had a friend who was a flight attendant for a major airline just like Betty. She certainly had her share of run ins like her as well and if I hadn't heard the stories come straight from her mouth I wouldn't have believed them!

Heels Up has a wonderful Hollywood ending feel to it which made the story of Brad and Betty complete and left me smiling.

  1. Great review. It would nice to read about a "Bookworm" Heroine ;) I can definitely identify with that! How did both if them fit in a plane bathroom? I can barely fit in one of them by myself. Lol ;)

    1. I always wondered about the spacing in a bathroom and the mile high club LOL!

    2. I agree Selena. You can't even fit one person in there but I guess if some hot mega star wants to try and squeeze in there with me I'd be game!
